The Lonar Crater Lake is located at Lonar, Maharashtra. You will be amazed to know that it is believed, the Lonar Lake was created by a meteor (a massive ball from outer space) which impacted during the Pleistocene Epoch or commonly known as Ice Age. According to Wikipedia, it is believed that the age of crater is more than 50,000 years.

#2 Natural Arch, Tirumala hills, Andhra Pradesh

Among the few natural arches in Asia is Natural Arch, located in Tirumala hills, Andhra Pradesh. According to Wikipedia, commonly called Silathoranam in the local language, Natural Arch is 8 meters (26.2 ft) in width and 3 meters (9.8 ft) in height.

#3 Pillar Rocks, Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu

Pillar Rocks, located in the Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, are known for its unusual shape. As mentioned by Wikipedia, it is a set of three giant granite rock pillars that stand together at a height of 400ft from the ground.

#4 Borra Caves, Visakhapatnam

The Borra Caves aka Borra Guhalu located in Visakhapatnam is believed to be discovered by William King George in 1807. According to the sources, the cave is about 705 m (2,313 ft) and so is called the largest one in the country. With the depth of 80 m (260 ft), it is also called the deepest one.

#5 Marble Rocks, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh

8 km long gorge called the Marble Rocks is a popular Indian tourist destination in the country. It is located near the city of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, an area along the Narmada river.

#6 Magnetic Hill, Leh

Magnetic Hill, located in Leh in Ladakh is called a gravity hill. The hill is alleged to possess some magnetic powers that pull cars uphill and even forces the aircraft to increase its altitude. According to Magnetic Hill website, it is also famous for its optical illusion, due to which the cars that are rolling downhill may appear rolling uphill.

#7 Columnar Basalt Lava, St. Mary’s Island, Malpe, Karnataka

St. Mary’s Islands in Malpe are a set of four small islands that are located in the Arabian Sea and are known for lava formation. Columnar Basalt is majorly formed when the thick lava flow cools down.

#8 Barren Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands

Currently, the only active volcano in whole South Asia is Barren Island, which is located in the Andaman Sea

#9 Chir Batti, Gujarat

Chir Batti is an unexplained unusual dancing light phenomenon which occurs at dark nights near Rann of Kutch. The local villagers there claim to see hovering and flying balls of lights often.

#10 Siachen Glacier, Karakoram

Located in the eastern Karakoram, the Siachen Glacier is 76 km (47 m) long. According to Wikipedia, it is called the longest glacier in the Karakoram plus the second-longest one in the world’s non-polar areas.

The Great Rann of Kutch located in the Kutch District of Gujarat is the largest salt desert in the world. According to the sources, it is 7,505.22 square kilometers (2,897.78 sqm) in size.

By the name you can guess that Toad Rock is like a toad which is about to jump into the water. It is located inthe Nakki Lake in Mount Abu.

The famous Balancing Rock is located near Madan Mahal fort in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. I was totally amazed when I saw such a huge rock balancing on another rock that too just by touching it slightly.

#14 Loktak Lake, Manipur

According to the sources, Keibul Lamjao is currently the only floating national park in the world. It is famous for Loktak Lake which is called the largest freshwater lake in Northeast India. It is famous for the phumdis (mass of vegetation, soil, and organic matter) floating over it. This lake is a source of water that is used for hydropower generation, irrigation and drinking and so plays an important role in Manipur’s economy.
